Carlo Missidenti is a sound designer, production sound mixer, and
sound editor. His career stems from a lifelong passion for sound,
cinema, and technology, cultivated during his university years and
deepened through his studies at Ipotesi Cinema, the film school
founded by Ermanno Olmi. During that time, he met director
Giorgio Diritti, with whom he began a long collaboration that led to
major projects and two David di Donatello Awards for Best Sound
(The Man Who Will Come, Hidden Away), along with other national
and international recognitions.
He has worked on numerous art-house films and international
productions, collaborating with directors such as Daniele Luchetti,
Roberto Andò, Antonio Albanese, Sergio Rubini, Jonny Campbell,
and Riccardo Milani. His filmography spans from independent
cinema to larger productions, including titles such as Strangeness,
Trust, A Hundred Sundays, The De Filippo Brothers, Cold Storage,
and The Wind Blows Round.
Alongside his professional work, he teaches and shares his expertise
with students and young professionals. He believes in sound as a
true narrative element, capable of giving depth to images and
conveying emotions that linger over time.
He is a member of the Italian Film Academy, the European Film Academy, the Italian Sound Technicians
Association (AITS), and the Trentino Film Association (ACT).
