Castel Drena

Drena Castle

Built in the 12th century, the Castle of Drena in essentially a Romanesque structure with gothic features and a few 16th-century building.
A cemetery used to encircle the original stone building built on the hill, which then became a castle when the area was feudalised. At the foot of Drena Castle, which overlooks the deep mouth of the Rio Salagoni stream, is the picturesque Marocche desert, born from the unique glacial phenomenon that led to the formation of a stretch of land full of boulders measuring 187 million cubic metres.
